School

I have many expectations for high school. I want to accomplish many things in high school. I would like to learn many things. I want to learn what I need to do to find and get in a good college.
I would like to try to go to school as much as possible. I would also like to learn as much as I can. For my senior year i would to only take a couple classes. I would like all those class to be electives.

MY POEM

I chose my poem because there is not many that I like but I like this one. I like this poem because I could actually picture my self stopping and watching the woods fill up with snow. I feel good that I will do good reading this poem in front of the classroom. I also like this poem because I like the way it flows.
I haven't really prepared for the competition yet. But all I need to do is memorize it and practice how I am going to say it. Yes, I think i might be able to get in the top 10. I feel that this poem will be easy for me to read well.

Poem

By reading the title "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" I pictured a kid stopping in someones yard and playing in their snow. I was wrong the poem was about someone driving a sled pulled by a horse, who stops and watches someone yard fill up with snow. When Robbert Frost says "To stop without a farmhouse near" I could picture it snowing out in the country and someone stopping and watching the snow.
I chose this poem because this is the poem that i have to memorize for poetry out loud. I also choose this poem because this is one of my favorite poems. This poem doesn't relate to me at all. But someone might relate to this by sitting and watching time go by.

Movie

The one sense that stands out the most was when Jem, Scout, and Dill went over to Boo's house at night when they had to go under the fence. While reading the book I could just picture this happening to them. Reading this book you get a good sense of the characters and how they would act. This definitely help with this scene.
The scene in the movie was just what I thought it would be like from reading the book. The actors did a good job of showing how Dill, Scout, and Jem would react. The characters did a good job of showing them freaking out when the were trying to get back under the fence back to their house. I think the movie would be better if it was in color, but sense it was back in time it looks realistic for their time period.

End

This book shows that being nice to people is not hard. If you try to be nice it will come back and people will be nice to you. "The kitchen table was loaded with enough to bury the family". This is just after the trial of Tom. This shows just how is it is to be nice. Atticus just did a simple thing of being Tom's lawyer. Black people were grateful that he tried to win the case.
The book taught me that being nice is not hard. It is very simple to be kind and help out others. Atticus probably could teach allot of people something. Over all I think this was a really good book and cant wait to start the next one.

Life lesson

One life lesson Jem and Scout learned is that treat everyone with respects and see everyone equally. This is said many times by Atticus but it mostly showed after the trial of Tom. All of the colored people respect Atticus and never say any thing negative to him.
"The kitchen table was loaded with enough to bury the family." This shows how much they are all thankful that Atticus tried his best to keep Tom alive and from getting convicted. This is a result of respect. Atticus did something nice for all the colored people so they did the same back. They gave them all they could in return.

Theme

There are a lot of themes in the book. The one that must stand out is racism. A lot of characters you racism in this book. The characters show this theme by telling Jem and Scout that Atticus is an N-lover
A good example of racism is when Jem and Scout are at recess at school Cecil Jacobs was calling their dad and N-lover. "He announced in the schoolyard the day before that Scout Finch's daddy defended niggers" The kid probably didn't even know what it meant, he probably just herd his parents calling Atticus that she he decided to do it. Another person that showed racism in the book was aunt Alexandra's son. He basically did the same thing as Cecil. He was saying that Atticus was a N-lover. This all kind of means that they don't think Atticus should defend black people because everyone thinks that they lie, and that everyone should trust white people over black people.

Atticus!!

At first I thought Atticus was a nice caring person. Now I kind of think that he is not such a good of a father. Atticus doesn't really tell the kids everything that is going on. Jem and Scout here from other people. Jem and Scout don't even know everything about their family and are hearing it from Their aunt. "she our cousin? I didn't know that." This is a perfect example of when their aunt is telling Scout that she should talk to her cousin Lily.
My parents are nothing like Atticus. My parents basically tell me every thing. I mostly know all of my family. If something happens with family my parents tell me what happens even if I don't know them. I would not want Atticus as a father.

Changing Perceptions of Boo Radley

While reading chapters 4-8 my thought of Boo Radely has changed alot. At first I thought he was just some weird scary guy, and now I think of him as a nice carring person. A couple of weird events are Boo putting stuff in the knot hole, and Boo folding and sewing Jem's pants back up for him. "When I went back, they were folded across the fence, like they were expectin' me." Also Boo Radely was giving the kids different things, some that were valuable. This shows that he could be bored and wants to have an outside realtionship and cares about the kids. This made me think different about Boo. This shows that the rumors are not true and he is nice and is not some one sneeking around at night looking at people threw their windows.
When scout was talking with miss maudie I got the feeling that boo is afraid to come out. He is afraid that he might not fit in or be accepted by anyone because of the rumors going around. Also is brother is controlling him because he says everything is a sin. I think Atticus didnt like the kids playing their "Boo Radely" game because he was woried that something might happen to them. I think Atticus is afraid that Boo Radley and his brother might not be to happy if they found out that his kids are playing a game spying on Boo and trying to see what he looks like.

Boo

My first impression of Boo Radely is that hey is a creepy person that know one know much about. I don't think the rumors are true because no one has seen him since he was a kid so no one knows any thing about him for sure. I think that Boo could actually be a really nice person and no one knows it because he wont leave his house. I hope Boo leaves his house because i want to find out more about him.

I find my self more like Dill. I think I am more like dill because I would rather dare some one to do something then actually do the dare. I don't think that i would go and touch a guys house that no one knows and says that he would kill you if you even stepping on his property. "Now you tell your father not to teach you any more. It's best to begin reading with a fresh mind. You tell him I'll take over from here and try to undo the damage." T\I find this funny because the teacher thing thinks that she is lying about her father not teaching her how to read. I doubt that any first grader would lie about something about that.

The best thing about english

The best about English so far was the story " A Christmas Memory. This was fun because we didn't have to do work for the day that we read it. Also stories are fun to read. This was fun too because I only had to read one paragraph. "A Christmas Memory" was also a good story which made it fun to read.
